Biography

Lena Hart grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and enjoyed playing soccer and tennis and eating as much fried chicken as she could possibly swallow. After a sprained ankle took her out of her soccer season, Lena, on a whim, auditioned for the high school musical, “Once Upon A Mattress” and magically got cast as the lead. It has been non-stop acting for her since…and much less fried chicken.

Lena dabbled with acting at Washington University in St. Louis, receiving her B.A. in Theatre and a minor in music. She then moved to NYC and toured with Theatreworks/USA receiving her Equity Card. During her few years in NYC she continued studying, and was introduced to a wonderful teacher, Jed Diamond, who taught both acting and The Alexander Technique? (Please click on the link to see what that could possibly be) ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE  He asked her and 7 others to follow him down to Knoxville, TN, to start a new M.F.A. program and she obliged—knowing there would be amazing fried chicken at the very least.

Upon graduating, Lena spent a few wonderful years in NYC acting in regional theatre (Indiana Repertory, Chautauqua Theatre, Pioneer Theatre Company), in off-Broadway shows, and starred in films and a few soaps. She renewed her love for food by acting as an actual sous chef for her day-job, and decided it was time to try the West Coast.

Lena currently lives in the Bay Area and acts locally in theatre, films, and various commercials (Office Max, Planned Parenthood)…AND she is in the process of becoming a certified ALEXANDER TEACHER!
